WomenBeing Talks: the COVID-19 experience
Event Information
Description
Organised by:
Natalia Bonilla, International Journalist and Producer
Monica Martins, founder of WomenBeing Magazine.
Let’s connect our voices during this time of global pandemic.
International institutions and governments worldwide have recognised the disproportionate effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) on women and other gender identities.
The talks
We want to talk about the impact of this virus and humanise our varied experiences of COVID-19.
So, we’re launching WomenBeing Talks, a series of conversations in English to weave voices, stories and knowledge from female peers with different perspectives, backgrounds and walks of life.
When and where
We’re organising12 peer-to-peer conversations, running from 28 April until 30 June. We’ll be featuring them as 30-45 minute live conversations on Zoom.
Each participant will have the opportunity to converse with another on how COVID-19 has affected them as women to begin a dialogue chain where the second interviews the third and so on.
This storytelling initiative seeks to connect women worldwide (community leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, journalists, activists, economists and more) and immerse them in sharing their personal and national experiences during these challenging times.
The conversations will be geared around:
1. What’s your view on COVID-19?
2. How has it impacted your livelihood?
3. What have you learned so far from this experience?
4. Depending on your area of expertise, what’s your analysis on what’s happening in your country, or what you see worldwide?
5. Have you found any opportunities in this experience?
6. How can we better connect and help you and each other as women?
