Frequently asked questions

Why is it called an unconference?

An unconference is a participant-driven meeting. The term “unconference” has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid hierarchical aspects of a conventional conference, such as sponsored presentations and top-down organisation

Can I order more than one ticket?

We'd appreciate it if you'd limit yourself to one ticket. And each person signs up individually.

Do I have to be a teacher?

No, anyone working in the field of education can attend.

Is there free parking on site?

Yes! See the photo at the top of the page for more information.

Will lunch be provided?

We will be offering two slices of pizza for 600 HUF.

Where should I stay?

There are lots of hotels and airbnbs available in Budapest, for ease of transport somewhere close to the 4-6 tram line would be beneficial. Districts 7 and 8 are good mid-way points between the town centre and the conference. For reference, from Corvin Plaza in District 8 it takes 25 minutes.

What childcare will be available?

We will have a secure room available with soft play/games/toys for children to enjoy. Supervised by IB students under adult supervision. We will ask you to sign up for this so we know how many children there will be.

Can I get there via public transport?

Yes! Public transport in the city is fantastic. Two options include: Bus 133E. Tram 4-6 & walk or transfer to Bus 33.

Can I pay by card?

This event will be cash only. Please bring small change.
