Event description

Women's Bodies, Womens' Wisdom is an exciting opportunity to bring clinical and holistic health together to explore the incredible potency of the pelvis. Thursday 5th October, 6.30-10pm at Branksome Dene Community Hall, Poole, Dorset.

Who is hosting this?

This incredible event is hosted by 3 teachers: Nicole Tudor Williams, Women's Health, Pelvic Pain and Pelvic Floor Specialist Physiotherapist, Sonja Lockyer creator of Wellbeing Rituals® and Qoya teacher and Scania Price, Counsellor specialising in Women's Health and Gong Bath host.

What will we be doing?

6.30-7.10pm - Nicole will be talking about how to know your own pelvic floor, removing the mystery about 'down there' and getting clear on mapping our own pelvic anatomy.

7.30-8.45pm Sonja will take us through a QOYA class, focusing on Women's Wisdom.

9.00-9.30pm Scania will take us deeper still with her magnificent Gong Bath meditation.

9.30-10pm closing ceremony under the full moon.

In Summary.

This exceptional gathering will take you on a journey from the mental knowledge base of Nicole's pelvic floor specialist wisdom, to your own pelvic floor wisdom as you become fully embodied through QOYA, to the Universal wisdom of the Gong Bath Meditation with Scania.

All of this beside the ocean, beneath the glorious full moon.

How much does this cost?

The ticket price is £35. Click here to purchase your ticket.

Who is this event for?

This event is for any woman who has a monthly cycle, has experienced menopause, is curious about pelvic health and all that the wisdom that lies within it. Open to all ages of the female race.

What do I need to bring?

Please wear warm and comfortable clothes. The space is very rugged so we recommend you bring nesting accessories - blankets, cushions, yoga mats. You will want to feel comfortable to move and to rest. Please also bring a flask of tea or your favourite mug - we will bring a range of herbal teas and biscuits.

Need more details? Here we go.

  • Understanding your Pelvis Anatomy and function.
  • How hormonal changes affect our Pelvic function and mood through the different stages of our life.
  • The Mystery of The Pelvic Floor….. Where is it? How do we activate it? Let’s make it simple.
  • Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP or SPD) and coping with chronic pelvic pain.
  • Let’s talk about sex and how pelvic pain can affect us and our relationships.

I will aim to do an introductory, informal talk in a short time frame to give you a brief insight into the function of your pelvis and how it influences your life. It will give you a small taster of the work that I do and at the very least get closer to accurately finding and activating your Pelvic floor. All questions welcomed.

A word from Sonja: QOYA

QOYA is a movement practice based on the understanding that through movement we remember. We remember our essence is wise, wild and free. When we partake in a QOYA session we come home to the truth of ourselves, being guided by our internal wisdom rather than the dictates of an external authority.

By combining the wisdom of yoga, the wild expression of dance and the freedom to explore the realms of pleasure within your own body, QOYA is a transformational portal back to yourself.

Expect yoga, dance, connection and deep awakening within.

A word from Scania: GONG BATH MEDITATION.

The Gong will be played in many different ways and for various purposes and intentions. There will be different builds and release cycles that can release old emotions. Due to Scania’s intuitive ability, each session will be different. At this point, the body and mind are in a vastly altered and receptive state of consciousness. For most people, this is a profound and deeply moving experience.

The Gong is a psychoacoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system, and to break up emotional blockages. When skilfully played, gongs stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously and recalibrate the parasympathetic nervous system.

Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong, the Yogi, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs is about spiritual, physical and emotional resolution. The opening of doors and windows to the Universe, the moving of collective energies to enter a spiritual dimension.
