Women's Cine Circle Film Festival

The Women's Cine Circle Festival focuses on providing resources and opportunities for female filmmakers to screen their films as well as develop and bring their films to life. It combines everything from short film screenings, workshops, webinars and networking.

This will be a virtual & fully online event.

Enjoy a selection of independent short films created by female filmmakers. The winner for the best short film award will win a £100 cash prize.

Female Filmmakers in the International Film Industry:

A discussion with film critic and editor Fiaba Di Martino about the current landscape of the film industry in regards to female representation and gender equality behind the camera, as well as recent influential film/TV releases by female directors and producers.

Interview with Melody Ruiz

Interview with producer and director Melody Ruiz. Melody is a creative with a breadth of experience across many industries, having worked and trained in television, theatre, dance, music, and live events. We will talk to Melody about her career path and experiences, and her view of the current landscape in the creative industries.

Melody Ruiz has been making television for over a decade and has a track record of working on iconic TV firsts including “The Real Marigold Hotel” (BBC One) and “The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds” (Channel 4). She has also made four Stacey Dooley films and is known for her work with sensitive access and contributor care.

Melody is currently transitioning over to the wonderful world of drama and has just successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign for movie musical short, “Satisfaction Guaranteed!” written and directed by Caitlin Shannon and David Buchanan
