After being the only woman on a male-dominated conference line up one time too many, I decided I wanted to encourage more woman to become public speakers. After doing some research I found that for many of us, speaking in public, at a conference, or simply having our ideas heard in a meeting, can be incredibly daunting. We feel like imposters, that we might embarrass ourselves, or won't know what to say or how to answer questions.
As a trained brain based coach, and with years of public speaking, stand up and business experience, I set up these workshops to be a fun, relaxed and informal way to help you overcome your presenting demons to support women to find our voices.
The events I have ran in the past have been a huge success, and many of the attendees have gone on to be successful speakers.
In order to keep these events as inclusive as possible, I run them on a donation only basis. If you can afford to support these by paying for some of my time, please do. If you cannot, then please do come along and you will be truly welcome.
Equally, if you register for a ticket please do come, as no shows have a direct negative impact on how the workshops for other people and incur a direct cost to me.
Thank you, I look forward to seeing you there :)
Here's what some people have said about past workshops
Kirsty's approach to teaching and mentoring is out of this world. Kirsty took the time to get to know us, check in with us, and reflect on practical ways each of us can take the learnings into our own lives throughout the day. She created a safe, inclusive, uplifting space for us all, and I walked away not only with a framework I will use for my speaking goals, but also with new friends. It's so empowering to get to know how your brain works and why putting yourself out there makes you sweat, stumble over your words, and mess up. And thanks to Kirsty, I know exactly what to do about it. I'm already working on a list of speaking and podcasting opportunities to pitch myself to! - Marijana Kay, SaaS Expert
I think every working woman should have the opportunity to do this. Learning how to use your voice from a meeting to a conference is absolutely essential and it was amazing to see the different women open up throughout the day. I found your attitude, personality and knowledge so infectious and I could have asked you another 20 questions. I couldn't relate to some of the issues in the room because on the surface I come across as a very confident person but you tapped into a different part of what being nervous or what imposter syndrome is, which I haven't heard others do. I loved that you spent so much time getting to know us individually and the constant check ins throughout the day really helped. Your pace, delivery and charisma is something to aspire to and I really couldn't recommend this workshop more. - Jasmine Granton, PR Executive
I highly recommend Kirsty's Confidence Workshop to any woman who feels anxious about speaking up meetings, giving presentations, or who suffers from imposter syndrome! The session is held in a supportive space with a small group and Kirsty's approachable, encouraging nature really helps everyone to feel comfortable. The workshop offers a good mix of the science behind public speaking anxiety and practical speaking tips. I met some brilliant women at Kirsty's workshop and left feeling inspired: i even booked an 8-week improv class straight after the session! - Christina Pashialis, B2B Marketer
Thank you for facilitating a situation where so many diverse women felt comfortable sharing their experiences openly, it's very rare that that happens. I feel that I have come away with lots of practical tips and advice that I'm already starting to use in my day-to-day life, as well as when presenting. I'm looking to start speaking on bigger stages and now I feel much better equipped to make that leap. The workshop was really actionable, and I've been able to relay a lot of what I learnt back to others in my organisation. A really empowering experience, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to build their confidence! - Helen Freeman, SEO Executive
