Event description

Description

A day of reflective, personal study and engagement; using physical and #spatial #drawing #activities to nurture independent creative thinking.

Led by artists and experienced workshop co-ordinators Sarah Goudie and Elena Thomas Drawing Your Space Study Days aim to build and develop creative links between seemingly disparate elements of artistic practice and our daily lives. An ongoing process of making, which can be nurtured and sustained beyond the Study Day, is our primary focus.

Our experience of working with this subject for over six years, informs us that people are very much supported in their lives by a day of focused, undisturbed making.

We will weave together ideas of creative identity and activity through looking to the work of practising artists, authors, poets and musicians. Sculptural drawing, mark making and conversation will inform a stimulating day!

Day Structure:

  • introductory talk
  • spatial construction exercise - mirroring and making space for creative thinking through spatial line work
  • lunch
  • physical mark making exercises and collaboration
  • writing exercise - words of support to our artist self
  • closing feedback

£65.00 per person (all materials included). Do book your place - we have a small group of eight people in order to maximise each person's time and space.
