Women's Intro to Game Shooting with Festive Cream Tea at Grimsthorpe Shooting Ground

Join us on 17 December at Grimsthorpe Estate Shooting Ground for a Women's Introduction to Game Shooting and Festive Cream Tea— a relaxed, friendly, and supportive day designed to help women of all experience levels learn more about the sport.

What you’ll learn:

  • Best practice and shooting etiquette
  • Quarry recognition
  • What to wear — is tweed really essential?
  • Gun safety: holding, loading, and safe handling
  • Identifying your bird
  • Tipping etiquette at the end of the day
  • Choosing the right cartridge and choke for your quarry
  • Whether to change chokes between drives
  • The role of gundogs and which breeds suit the job
  • Responsibilities of beaters and gamekeepers

After the instructional session, we’ll check your guns and head out to put your learning into practice, shooting a range of sustainable ammunition at driven targets under the instruction of experienced BASC staff.

In the afternoon, relax and enjoy a festive cream tea, followed by a game preparation and cooking demonstration, where you’ll learn how to make the most of your harvest.

All clays and cartridges included.
