Welcome to the Women's Leadership in Protected Landscapes Network. The network has just topped 1000 and we have started our small (but perfertly formed) monthly newsletter.

This is our third virtual event. Responding to the demand for new connections, for safe discussion spaces and the exploration of new ways of working.

A virtual coffee - focused this time on the role of women's leadership and place. How does place affect leadership and leadership affect place?

Nature and landscapes; people and planet; food and farming - these are all at critical points. And planning is taking on new shapes.

What role do communities have in key levers such as Partnership Management Plans for National Parks? How does local and national culture affect decision making and leadership? What are the voices of place that we don't hear?

These questions are not just about women of course. But are there some things that women might bring to the table? For example the role of women as community connectors and story tellers is well rehearsed - what might we learn from that?

Speakers include Dame Clare Moriarty, CEO Citizens Advice, former DEFRA Permanent Secretary and 3 years Chair of South Downs National Park Partnership Board; Lizzie Glithero-West CEO of Heritage Alliance; Seniz Mustafa, Urban Beaver Officer and Campaign for National Parks; Head of Climate, Nature and Communities at Exmoor National Park, Yvonne Witter Board Member at Peak District National Park; Simone Lowthe-Thomas Director for Nature and Climate at Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Hosted as ever by Ali Barnes CEO of New Forest National Park and Chaired by Anita Eade Director at WWT.

As before the event is open to anybody to attend. A focus on women's leadership is important for everyone.
