Women’s Learn-to-Ride at Tameside Hospital and Chadwick Dam

We’re so excited to announce that in partnership with Tameside Council, Tameside and Glossop NHS Trust, Cycling UK, Transport for Greater Manchester and The Bee Network, Tameside Women’s Community Cycling Group will be putting on 6 women’s learn-to-ride sessions at Tameside Hospital and Chadwick Dam!

Our sessions are dedicated to working with you to learn to ride a bike for the first time or build your cycling confidence and will be followed by a leisurely ride around Chadwick Dam. It’s a real 2km stress-busting cycling space and you’ll be able to hear birds singing as we amble around tall leafy green trees. It’s a fantastic traffic-free environment and the best part of it all is that it’s right on our doorstep!

The sessions take place at Tameside Hospital in the Mellor Road car park (off Mossley Road) followed by a leisurely 2km social ride round Chadwick Dam and Silver Springs.

Please kindly note, this fabulous cycling project adventure is being subsidised by Transport for Greater Manchester. A cycle training course would usually cost £40 per hour - therefore please contact us if you book on but are subsequently unable to make it.

This scheme is for all women who would like to learn to ride and we would especially love to welcome female staff members from Tameside Hospital! We also have bikes and helmets available to borrow on the day.

TWCCG are a group of qualified cycling instructors with lots of experience and patience in delivering Bikeability cycle training to the National Standard to both children and adults. We are passionate about cycling for active travel, to keep fit and improve our wellness… and most importantly we are also very keen to make new cycling friends in Tameside!
