Welcome to Tameside Women’s Community Cycling Group women’s learn-to-ride.
This session is for absolute beginners looking to learn to ride a bike for the first time as well as helping build confidence for those returning to cycling after a long break.
We provide bikes and helmets free of charge but you can also use your own.
There is no need to wear specialist cycling gear, however we do recommend weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.
The cycle training will take place in a traffic-free environment at King George V Playing Fields, Ashton-under-Lyne.
Important notes
- Please meet at the cafe at King George V Playing Fields
- Remember to bring a water bottle and something to eat if needed
- Riders should be dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for the day's weather
- We have bikes and helmets available to borrow on the day for those who need them
- Places are extremely limited so if you are unable to attend, please cancel so we can offer your place to another learner
This session is part of Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival which is a fantastic event which aims to help people to get back into cycling!
All TWCCG’s cycle training sessions are funded by various organisations who work in partnership with.
They are all incredibly supportive of the work we deliver in the community and they love hearing about the positive differences we are making through shared experiences from participants.
This is why we like to take photos or videos in order to share this information with the funders and other potential attendees via our website and social media.
However, if you would prefer not to feature in any photos or videos, please don’t worry, we always ask on the day and will ask for consent first.
