Description
POST- WOMEN'S MARCH BRISTOL UPDATE: Over a thousand people turned up to march today. Organised in three days at a kitchen table, I am so proud of every single person who felt this was important enough to turn up today. We added our voice to the voices of over 2 million others across the planet. We did good.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this happen. So peaceful and life affirming. Love Trumps Hate. Look what love did in 72 hours!

BRISTOL'S 'SISTER MARCH' TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR THE WOMEN'S MARCH ON WASHINGTON ON 21ST JANUARY 2017.We will start at Queen's Square at 10.15am. Registration closes before the march so we can control numbers. Thank you for your support!
WHY WE ARE MARCHING: Every voice who believes in equality will be heard at this march. We welcome every expression and we celebrate diversity.
This Women's March on Bristol will take place on the first day of the presidency of Donald Trump, along with over 616 other ‘sister marches’ planned on the same date as the one in the US Capital. It's estimated that over a million people will partake in a Women's March on this day.
Join fellow Bristolians for this peaceful event, and add your voice to those who will march across the globe on 21st January. March for equality. March the rights of minorities. March for peace and not a rhetoric of fear and hate. We will march with our partners and our children, for every voice that deserves to be heard - every gender, age, race, religion, physical ability, sexual orientation and language.
WE PROMISE: We have over 500 people signed up to attend Women's March on Bristol and so we wholeheartedly ask all participants to remain a positive and peaceful. We are officially nonpartisan. Therefore, we will be avoiding anything which directly attacks any political party or politician. We will do this in order to respect the guidelines issued by the official Women's March on Washington organisation committee.
ROUTE: We've been advised by authorities that we must march in smaller groups to avoid disruption to those not taking part in the march. We will adhere to this, to remain within the law. We have also been asked to only march a short distance. Therefore, we'll remain static in Queen's Square until around 11am when we'll break into groups, each managed by a marshall, and head on our short march to College Green. We will ensure we walk on the path, not the road, and we will take this route (Googlemaps link HERE):
SOCIAL MEDIA: We encourage you to share your participation in the event on Saturday, as we link with sister marches across the globe. We will use the hashtags #WhyIMarch and #WhyIMarchBristol.
