Women's Network | International Women’s Day and the Legal Sector

About this Event

Please join our Women's Network for an innovative, intersectional, and interactive session to celebrate International Women’s Day and explore the role of women in the legal sector.

We have had slow progress in the legal sector and now need real action to create parity for women in the legal profession. “Choose to Challenge” is the theme for International Women’s Day for 2021.

We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements in law and in our workplaces. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.

We will also be using a preview of data from our updated groundbreaking research report Career Progression in the UK Legal Sector to lead our discussion and interactive breakout sessions on how we can "choose to challenge" as well as to support equality for and the advancement of women in the legal sector. Everyone will walk away with concrete actions they can take as individuals as well as strategies their organisations can implement to create change for women's equality.

We will be joined by a stellar panel of leading women in law including:

  • Sarah Blomfield, General Counsel EMEA, Evercore
  • Clare Fielding, Co-Founding Partner, Town Legal LLP
  • Elizabeth Fisher, Senior Vice President, Burford Capital
  • Tai Vivatvaraphol, Senior Counsel – Corporate, AstraZeneca
  • Homa Wilson, Partner, Hodge Jones & Allen
  • Daniel Winterfedlt QC (Hon), Chair, InterLaw Diversity Forum

With a welcome from:

Kathleen Harris, Head of the London office and Co-chair of the Anti-Corruption practice, Arnold & Porter.

As part of the event please join us for tea and cakes! We have teamed up with the Luminary Bakery who have created a special menu and discount for us.
