WOMENS PEAK DISTRICT ADVENTURE WEEKEND (ADVENTURESS HIKERS)

Come and join your Adventuress Hikers fam for a weekend of fun fuelled adventure in The Peak District National Park. We will be exploring this beautiful park from the picture perfect village of Castleton, ticking off two of the parks most iconic hikes, covering The Edale Valley, Mam Tor (Mother HIll), Cave Dale, Back Tor, The Hope Valley, Hathersage, Stanage Edge & Higger Tor.

ITINERARY

Day 1

6pm-8pm: Arrive at your home for the weekend, YHA Castleton Losehill, set in an impressive gothic mansion. This is where you'll have your welcome meeting to meet your group and guide. We will get to know each other over a drink and talk about our coming adventure.

Day 2

You can choose to either eat brekky at the YHA restaurant or make your own in the fully equipped communal kitchen.

9:30am: We set off straight from our door to hike the Edale Valley, via Mam Tor & Back Tor with unbelivable views from the ridge line.

Distance: 14km loop

Elevation Gain: 620m

Difficulty: Hard

After our hike we'll have free time to explore the picturesque village of Castleton with it's crafty shops, cafes & pubs. If you have enough energy left you can take the short hike up to Peveril Castle which overlooks the village and Cave Dal, or explore some of the famous caves in the area. Or simply head back to our base for some downtime in the YHAs peaceful gardens complete with resident goats and lambs.

7pm: We will take a slow wander back into the village for a pub dinner, and to discuss the coming days hike.

Day 3

9:00am: We will be off and out the door leaving Castleton behind for the Hope Valley where we will tackle Stanage Edge and Higger Tor, with a traditional tea & cake stop in the village of Hathersage.

Distance: 11.5km loop

Elevation Gain: 450m

Difficulty: Medium-Hard

3-5pm: We say our goodbyes, swap socials and head home.

GETTING THERE

It is advisable to drive or seek a ride share as the Day 2 hike is only reachable by car. The nearest train station to the YHA is Hope, located 4 miles away, where you can take a bus to the hostel. Free parking at YHA.

If you choose to cancel for any reason on or before the 22nd June you will be charged a cancellation fee of 30%

If you choose to cancel after the 22nd of June you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100%
