About this event
We can define community organising as: "bringing people together to take action around their common concerns and overcome social injustice" Source link: corganisers.org.uk
Come along to this introductory session where we will be exploring the what, why, and how of community-led organising! This interactive workshop is suitable for all - whether you're currently involved in community organising or you feel passionately about an issue and not sure where to start.
Facilitated by Nico (they/them), Community Organising Coordinator at LGBT Foundation. Their role is to support grassroots community organisers, current and new, in accessing the tools, knowledge and resources they need to make changes in their communities.
The session will be run online, via Zoom, please sign up via Eventbrite or contact Nico nico.dhillon@lgbt.foundation to book on.
The event will be close-captioned. If you have any access requirements you would like Nico to be aware of, please email them directly.
This event is for all self-identifying lesbian, bi, queer or questioning women, trans women, non-binary/genderfluid people wishing to access a women-centred space, and for those whose gender identity includes woman some or all of the time.
We expect those who engage with the Community Organising Programme to align with the values of LGBT Foundation. We ask that agree to follow our Safer Spaces Policy when joining us.
