The Ministry of Making Womens Retreat of Comfort, Fun and Creativity. Sunday 10 November - Weds 13 November.

Limited number of day workshop tickets available

Perfectly timed in preparation for the gift giving season.

Easy fail safe workshops, where you'll make gorgeous things, and learn lots of secret textile tips.

Sea views, walks to blow the cobwebs away, inspiring suppers with like minded, creative people.

Take some time out of your busy schedule to get creative with textiles and make new friends. Suitable for absolute beginners and improvers. Stay by the coast, in gorgeous recently refurbished shared accommodation and take part in creative workshops, and informal creative discussions. Enjoy some lovely walks on the Cornish cliff path, rest, read, chill out and learn some easy, fail-safe textile techniques in a supportive fun environment. Get inspired to turn your experiments into high class gifts. Meet like minded fabricaholics, textiles enthusiasts, and share ideas and expert tips with other creative women. You will use what you learn, at home, time and time again to create wonderful presents and homewares. Ideal for the "creatively curious"....absolute beginners welcomed.

All accommodation is in shared rooms.



Sunday 10th November Day 1

Shibori Mini Session, Indigo Roads presentation and Creative Feast (Workshop 1) 6.30-9.30pm

Hear about and see the Natural Indigo Traditions from Hmong Tribal Artisans in Laos and Thailand, and create your own sample shibori peice.

Afterwards, join the "all you can eat Indian Vegetarian Feast" and meet other creatives in a fun informal setting, to discuss creative projects, ideas and swap tips.

Monday 11th November- Day 2

Shibori (Workshop 2) 11.30 am-12.20

Learn extended shibori techniques, creating stunning unique patterns.We will be discussing different ways to make an Indigo vat, and in this workshop, due to time limits, we will use Indigo coloured dye. (Workshop lasts 1 hour 20 minutes)

Please note that due to time restrcitions, we will not be making or using natural indigo vats in this workshop.

Feltmaking (Workshop 3) 3-4.20pm

Explore introductory 3D feltmaking techniques, and create a felted silk and merino wool beach stone.

(Workshop lasts 1hour 20 minutes)

Tuesday 12th November -Day 3

Crotchet-11-12.20

Learn how to use this exciting and easy to begin craft. You can crotchet anywhere, beginning with small projects, and extending into larger work, as confidence improves.

Workshop lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes

Handmade Dreambooks 11-12.20

Learn how to hand stitch your own book, using a variety of papers. Take part in informal discussion group about using dreambooks to achieve your goals and set intentions.

Workshop last 1 hour and 20 minutes

Weds 13th November-Breakfast and goodbyes 10am

Tickets prices include all basic materials.

Please note all workshops must be booked in advance on a first come, first served basis. Extra workshops may be available on demand, and a minimum of 5 people will need to book, in order for the workshop to run. If the day workshop you have booked for doesn't run, you will get a refund, or have the chance to opt for an alternative workshop at the same timing.

A limited number of day tickets are available for all workshops

Material kits will be on sale for you to take home, experiment with and share with others.
