We are proud to present the launch of the #IAmFemalePositive event series with an exclusive donation based self-defence class for women, with all proceeds going to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
Here are the facts that made us take action:
1 out of 4 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime.
4 out of 5 women who fight back will get themselves out of the situation.
1 in 20 women in England has been a victim of rape according to Home Office Statistics.
Those that have conducted and learnt women’s self-defense moves are more likely to be successful.
This is your opportunity to equip yourself with a selection of physical and psychological tools that will elevate your chances of success within any situation and environment by utilising the disciplines of Krav Maga, a system developed for the Israel Defence Forces consisting of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training.
The class will be held at London's hottest new fitness venue KOBOX and taught by the highly regarded #FemaleSpiration Sarah Brendlor who has been a leading practitioner of Krav Maga for nearly 3 decades.
What's more, is thanks to our wonderful friends at Protein Haus, all attendees will take home a special #IAmFemalePositive Vegan Pink Panther shake to take home with them, or enjoy together as we network the night away!
The #IAmFemalePositive campaign...
#IAmFemalePositive is a social campaign and movement initiated by The 5"inch Heels founder Kate Thompson and company manager Kane D. Ricca, in association with the Pink Ribbon Foundation, focusing on altering societies perception of what defines a woman.
With the rapid increase of online social networks in the past decade, and the influx of public figures using these platforms to reach their demographic, there has been a huge impact on how women are perceived culturally, professionally and personally... and to be frank - we don't like it!
As a company who are fully conscious about our imprint on society, we want to make sure that we are at the forefront of activism for feminism. But what does that actually mean? For us, it's to make sure that with every word written, step taken and look given we encapsulate what it means to be strong, mindful and respected women who are fighting for a greater good.
We stand for self-love and self-worth. We want women to look deeper into who they are and what they stand for, and hope that the #IAmFemalePositive movement will present them with new and exciting ways to endorse that wonderful woman title.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There are no minimum age requirements to enter KOBOX, however, we advise attendees to be 16+ as the nature of the Krav Maga discipline can be physically demanding.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
You will find KOBOX just off the Kings Road in the heart of Chelsea. The venue is a 7-minute walk from Sloane Square tube station (Circle, District lines) and a 20-minute walk from Knightsbridge tube station (Piccadilly line). Street parking may be available, however, we suggest taking public transport.
What do I need to bring to the event?
Clothing that you can move in, and positive energy! Bottled water is available, there is also a fantastic smoothie and shake bar that you can take full advantage of... and trust us; they're delicious.
