Dame Sarah Storey, Visiting Professor, will be hosting a panel of experts to showcase and discuss some of world leading sports research that is taking place at Manchester Metropolitan University Institute of Sport.

Sue Anstiss MBE of Founder & CEO of Fearless Women. Sue is the author of Game On: the unstoppable rise of women’s sport, a host of the award-winning podcast The Game Changers and co-founder of the Women’s Sport Collective.
Gary Young, non-exec Director of Manchester Thunder Netball Club and Board Member of World Netball. Thunder have worked with the university in a range of areas of several years and are a great example of collaboration between a club and a university. Dr Larissa Davis, who has recently joined the Manchester Met team, is a reader in Sport Management within the Sport Industry Research Group (SIRG). Larissa’s research focuses on the economic and social impact of sport, leisure and major events. She specialises in using Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis to measure the value of sport and physical activity.
Professor Kirsty Elliott-Sale | Manchester Metropolitan University (mmu.ac.uk) Kirsty is a world-leading researcher whose work focuses on female athletes, on areas including the menstrual cycle, hormonal contraceptives, the Female Athlete Triad and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport. As well as talking about her work, Kirsty will also be sharing details of the new Centre of Excellence for Women in Sport, that we launched with UKSI on 1st March.

You will also be able to find out about Masters and PhD opportunities that could help to further your career and how our Centre for Enterprise could help your business grow.

There will be an opportunity to tour the Institute of Sport which has been built to push boundaries. To redefine elite performance. To test and teach the latest ideas across a variety of disciplines. To explore human mechanics and social trends. To offer new opportunities for participation, research and collaboration.

And there will, of course, be plenty of time to network with members of the Women’s Sport Collective as well as our leading experts in sport.
