Speakers:

Women Preachers Resourcing Lives: Revd Dr Deirdre Brower Latz

Deirdre Brower Latz is the Principal of Nazarene Theological College, Manchester. Following ordination 1996, she worked in urban communities in the United Kingdom. In 2012 she became Principal of Nazarene Theological College, Manchester. She still also serves among local congregations in urban environments as a preaching pastor and leadership mentor. As Senior Lecturer at Nazarene Theological College, Deirdre teaches practical theology, focussing on issues of justice, community, church and Wesleyan theology.

Deirdre holds a PhD from The University of Manchester, an MA in Christian Holiness and a B.A. Hons in Pastoral Theology from Nazarene Theological College, Manchester. She is the recipient of the Reverend Dr Fay Quanstrom Chair of Pastoral Ministry for 2018-2020 from Olivet Nazarene University.

Women’s Language in Preaching: Rev Jenni Beaumont

Jenni Beaumont is an award-winning journalist who has worked on a variety of publications including business to business titles, local newspapers and lifestyle magazines. She is now a curate in the Diocese of Manchester. She holds an MA in Theology from the University of Chester, where she studied language used in sermons.

Reading Women’s Lives: Revd Liz Shercliff

Liz Shercliff is Director of Studies for Readers in the Diocese of Chester, a co-founder of Women’s Voices, now in its fifth year, and author of a number of articles about women’s preaching, and preaching in general. Her new book, Preaching Women: Gender, Power and the Pulpit, will be launched at this event.
