About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours 30 minutes

This is your time to slow down, breathe and nourish your body and mind in the warm and welcoming space of the Coach House Wellness Centre in Alfreton Derbyshire.

This event is being kept purposefully small and intimate with a maximum of 8 participants to ensure the best experience for everyone.

Some of our day will be spent outdoors amongst nature, where you will be guided in:

  • A mindful wander with moments of guided nature connection for a sense of calm.
  • Qigong, the ancient practice of mind - body movement for focus and relaxation*

(If it is raining the qigong will take place indoors.)

The rest of the time we will be indoors, with the following experiences for you to enjoy:

  • Guided hand massage, using essential oils for self care and relaxation
  • Guided mediation, for deep relaxation
  • Sound bath, relax deeply to the soothing vibrations to melt away any tension
  • Sensory boxes, to make and take home containing mini oil bottles, crystal chips and reminders for continuing a sensory connection practice.

Refreshments Included:

A hearty home made soup with freshly baked bread for lunch followed by a fruit crumble.

Complimentary teas, coffees and cold drinks throughout the day.


Please feel free to bring along any other refreshments that you might want.

During the soundbath you can lie down on the floor if you are comfortable to do so. Please bring along a pillow or cushion and a blanket if you would like one. You may also wish to bring a yoga mat to lie on or an extra blanket. We do have some smaller blankets to borrow if you choose to. Whatever will help you to feel comfortable and relaxed, you are welcome to bring.

Whilst outdoors for forest bathing it is a good idea to bring a small sit mat if you have one or just a plastic bag to keep you dry when seated in case the ground is wet or muddy. Please dress for the weather with a waterproof if needed as we will be outdoors for just over an hour for this section of the day. In case of high winds or lightening storms the forest bathing section will be replaced with alternative indoor wellness activity.

This day of well-being is brought to you by Bonnie from Woodland Connections at Shining Cliff Woods and Lisa from the Coach House Wellness Centre and we are excited to share a day of calm and connection with you. We are also joined by Shelley for the Qigong class.

Frequently asked questions

Where to park?

There is limited free parking at the venue or nearby street parking. There is also a small free car park nearby.

What to wear?

Wear whatever you will feel comfortable to relax in. However, we will head outdoors for a nature connection wander and qigong so please be mindful of the weather and bring suitable footwear for outdoors. There may be muddy areas depending upon the recent weather.

If I can no longer make it, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately we cannot give refunds with less than 7 days notice unless we can fill your place. If, due to any unforeseen circumstances the event has to be cancelled, we will then offer an alternative date. If the new date is unsuitable we will refund your ticket in full.

How to find us:

The Coach House Health and Wellness Centre is located on Independent Hill, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 7DG. However, do not turn into Independent Hill, as the parking area is located in front of the building on the main road. Alternatively there's a car park on Park Street, just a short distance away

Woodland Connections grew from a shared love of the woodland and a passion for encouraging children and adults to enjoy the benefits of being in nature.
