Womenswear Trouser Block Workshop with Sue and Amber
Is it a nightmare to buy trousers? Do standard patterns not work for your shape? Are you interested in making clothing with patterns that actually fit your body shape?
Sue Field from ‘Fieldwork’ and Amber Rose from ‘Stitch Department’ are collaborating to bring you this exciting two day workshop creating a trouser block for your personal measurements!
Day One
- Create a draft of a trouser to fit your unique shape and measurements.
- Create a bespoke pattern
- Knowledge of what a well fitting trouser pattern looks like on paper.
Day Two
- Make your toile in calico.
- Fit the toile to your body and make any necessary adjustments to the pattern.
- Learn how to install an invisible zip.
Leave with a finished bespoke simple trouser pattern that you can use to create and design your own trousers! All sizes welcome.
What is a trouser block?
A basic pattern shape to use as a template for creating new styles and comparing to other patterns. The block you make will be bespoke to your own measurements.
What is a toile?
A mock up garment made from inexpensive fabric, which is used to adjust, fit and perfect a design.
