About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us in Kensington Gardens Allotment to discover the beautiful botany and fascinating ecology of some of our most overlooked wild species, the 'weeds'.

Our relationship to these wild plants has changed throughout history. What place do weeds have in our urban parks, and what lessons can we learn from them?

The session will involve a gentle stroll around the allotment looking for hidden ‘weeds’. Participants will enjoy a hands-on identification activity exploring common wild plants, followed by a freshly made herbal tea or a taste of historic Dandelion 'coffee'.

The session will last up to 1.5 hours and will be open to all ages and abilities. This session takes place solely in the allotment garden which has paved level or compacted gravel paths, so is a more accessible version for those with limited mobility than our standard Wonderful Weeds Walk. Please contact us if you have any accessibility requirements so that we can make sure the session will provide you with the best experience.
