Description

This is a short introduction to wood turning. You will learn about the health and safety associated with wood turning, and turn a spindle and learn how to use callipers to get a perfectly uniform turned rolling pin. Bring on Bake Off Pastry week!

We have three wood lathes and you will be working in pairs.

This class is aimed at people who have never turned wood before.

This workshop is part of our Workshop Week. Beginners and non-ETL members welcome.

Prerequisite - None
Materials (all included) - reclaimed wood
Tools - Lathe , Callipers
Cost - £50 Standard | £45 ETL Members* 10% Discount | £44 Concession** Tickets

*ETL membership card required when attending the workshop.

**Concession prices are applicable if you are a student, receiving benefits, unemployed, or over the age of 60. Proof of eligibility where possible will be required when attending the workshop.

**** NOTE: Please notify us before booking a ticket for a minor. The workshops at the Edinburgh Tool Library are for participants age 18 or over but we might welcome minors 15 - 17 when accompanied by a parent/guardian. We will consider if the workshop is appropriate for a minor and reserve the right to confirm or cancel the booking. Thank you for your understanding and please do get in touch beforehand.
