Event description
Most gardeners will have some experience of woodchip, usually as a mulch on paths. However there’s much more to it than that.

About this event

Used as a mulch woodchip can help retain moisture, reduce weed numbers and even fight plant disease.

Woodchip can also build soil health and shift the fungal:bacterial ratio in soil.

You can even produce your own propagation compost and hot bed using woodchip. It might even help in our efforts to combat climate change.

Ben Raskin, Head of Horticulture at the Soil Association, will share some of the latest research and grower experience from his new book “The Woodchip Handbook”. https://www.soilassociation.org/staff-bios/ben-raskin/

Tickets via eventbrite - available from 12 Jan (earlier to members - see email in your inbox)

NOTE: This event will be Live streamed from The Station so that you have the option either to access the event online via zoom or to attend in person.
