Event description
A meditative evening of prose and poetry exploring the qualities of the Rowan Tree.

About this event

About this event

All are welcome for a delightful evening of story, prose, poetry, drumming and Earth meditation. Journey with us into the poetry and magic of the Rowan Tree.

Rowan – Tree of Poetry

Let us explore the Rowan, a tree of the wild uninhabited cold places of Britain. It grows on the windswept cliffs of the river Wye and Scotland producing scarlet red berries which birds gorge upon, and beautiful white flowers which insects feed from.

In old stories it is guarded by giants and offers a bridge to the land of promise and eternal youth to one who dares approach it. For the Rowan stands as a threshold guardian, afeared by those with a tainted heart, the paramount tree of the Druids and a protector of the green world.

Discover your indigenous roots wherever you live and bring your local landscape into your heart once more.

Regular attendance will enable you to build up a worthwhile practice and connection to nature which will help you in your everyday life and enable a connection with a community of like-minded people. We shall progress through the Celtic Tree Ogham from Birch to Yew, giving detailed knowledge on each tree.

What to expect in a Woodland Bard session:

- A peaceful time listening to prose and poetry that will give you an experience of Nature Connection.

- Learn the profound poetry, lore and uses that surround our native traditions and trees.l

- Develop a meditation practice that will help create peace and strength in your life.

- Explore the wealth of Nature Traditions sourced from the Primal traditions connected to the land.
