About the location:

Tollymore Forest Park is the location of the training event, with kind permission of the Northern Ireland Forest Service. Tollymore was bought in stages by the Ministry from the 1930’s onwards, contains a wide range of mature trees, and became the first state forest park in Northern Ireland in 1955. It also has one of the oldest arboreta in Ireland (1752) and a unique collection of mature forest trees in half-acre plots. We will be using material from these in the course of the day. It is located at Bryansford, near the town of Newcastle in the Mourne and SlieveCroob Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
