About this event

Charity & Causes • Environment

It’s well known that immersing yourself in nature is very good for your mental health. On this autumn walk with one of our reserve managers we will see plenty of colour and enjoy the wildlife, birds, plants, and fungi in this spectacular wood.

Embrace your wild side - what to expect:

Accessibility and terrain

There are five points of pedestrian access from Grass Wood Lane, into the wood. One from Bastow Wood to the north and one from the east. Paths are very steep in places, and conditions underfoot can be rocky, and difficult when it is wet or icy. No wheelchair access.

There are public footpaths in the wood, and a well-surfaced access track.

Transport

Parking in small quarry car park, or on roadside in several places.

Please visit the reserve webpage for directions.

Facilities

The nearest toilets are in Grassington, 1.3 miles away. There are pubs and cafes situated there too.

What to bring/wear

This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Sturdy footwear is always recommended.

Toilets and catering

There are no toilets at this nature reserve and no catering facilities. You're welcome to bring a drink and/or snack with you but please take your litter home with you.
