About this event

Join us for a fun-filled family crafting morning and recreate the intricate designs of Iron Age art using air drying clay.

You’ll take home a little pot of paint to finish your artwork at home once it’s dry.

This event is part of the Iron Age day at Wendover Woods and there will be other activities taking place around Boddington Hillfort!

We'll go on a short walk to look at the other activities and gather inspiration before heading back to our woodland veranda to work on our designs.

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and you will work together to complete the activity. This is a lovely opportunity for you to craft something together and for young people and their care-givers to bond in nature.

You're welcome to bring your own refreshments too.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and be prepared for all weathers. We may need to postpone or cancel the workshop in the event of bad weather.

Frequently asked questions

How much is parking?

Ticket holders benefit from £3.50 parking for the whole day!

My child sometimes struggles with organised events, but they would like to come.

I will do all I can to make you and your child feel comfortable. Please do tell me what might help and we can work together. These sessions are really relaxed and if you need to step out or find a quiet space for you and your child to create, that's fine.

Do I need to wear any particular clothing?

These sessions will be outdoors and we may be walking on uneven ground during various weather conditions, so it is important to wear appropriate footwear and clothing to make sure you stay safe.

Could the workshop be cancelled if the weather is bad?

In extreme weather events, the session may be cancelled at short notice to prevent any safety risks. You will be notified on the contact details provided, so do keep an eye out on your phone or email if the weather is looking bad.

Are there any rules I need to know about?

We have been given permission to have these lovely sessions at Wendover Woods by Forestry England, so by taking part in this workshop, you are agreeing to all abide by the rules, instructions and byelaws on the site.
