Description

WOODLAND FLO DAY @Future Roots, Stanmer Organics 2/3/2019 10am-3pm

Spend a day in the woods with Zimbabwean permaculture farmer, Gary Redding, and his #Landtribe. Learn about the 'Flo Farm' land regeneration projects, and how the Future Roots plot is being turned into a magical, woodland with increased hydrological and biological diversity.

Columbian musician and artist, Rafael Berrio, will give you a guided tour of his fascinating Future Roots wooden sculptures, and Beacon Hub Eco-education charity trustee, Atlanta Cook, will guide you through the art of outdoor tea making & connecting mind and body with nature inside the beautiful hand-built yurt.

Experience a day in the great outdoors getting your ‘local hands on local lands’ and hanging out with the #Landtribe. Later in March there will also be opportunities to learn about tree tapping for sugar, making ponds, constructing an outdoor kitchen, planting medicinal herbs and more. To make your Woodland Flo Day super special you’ll be treated to a mostly ‘flo grown’ healthy lunch around the open fire it was cooked on.

Join us while we Flo with Nature, not against her. Unwind under the glorious green canopy and relax with us to the sound of wildlife going about their business in peace.

This is a joint Flo Domes, Future Roots & Beacon Hub Brighton production promoting knowledge of Natural Law, Health & Wellbeing through direct connection with Nature.

WOODLAND FLO DAY @Future Roots in Stanmer Organics on Sat 2nd March 10am-3pm including all activities, lunch and refreshments only £35 per person Introductory Offer/Early Bird Ticket available up to 1st Feb, £55 thereafter.

Meet outside Stanmer House at 10am wearing walking shoes and layered clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a bottle of water, warm hat, gloves and waterproof jacket (and trousers if you have them) so you can spend a compfortable day in the woods with us.

Future Roots is an uneven woodland area, but the main paths are easy to walk along. There is access to a compost WC and hand washing facilities by the Earthship. Quiet, well behaved dogs that will not disturb the peaceful ambiance are welcome.

Travel Info: Catch the train to Falmer Station and take the subway towards Sussex Uni/Stanmer Park (25 min walk), or catch the No. 78 which runs right into Stanmer Park at the weekends (7 min walk) or the No. 25 bus to park entrance weekdays (15 minute walk). You can easily cycle from Brighton & Hove along the Lewes Road following signs for Stanmer Park, or you can park your car in an authorised parking area within Stanmer Park.

Please email Atlanta Cook at info@beaconhubbrighton.org with any further questions you might have. Please print out your ticket to bring with you or take screen shots to display, as you may not have internet access to your emails in Stanmer Park.

We look forward to welcoming you to your first of hopefully many inspirational, peaceful and energising Woodland Flo Days.
