🌿 Woodland Play at Highbury Orchard

Join us for Woodland Play – a friendly, nature-based session for families at Highbury Orchard, tucked away in the heart of Highbury Park.

These relaxed sessions are designed to help children (and their grown-ups!) connect with the outdoors through play, creativity, and seasonal discovery. Activities may include:

  • Den building and imaginative play
  • Nature crafts and storytelling
  • Exploring plants, bugs, and wildlife
  • Seasonal games and sensory activities
  • Time to simply roam, climb, and enjoy the Orchard

Pay what you can donations, guide price £6 per child, £12 per family (2-4 children)

We provide a safe and welcoming environment, encouraging children to explore at their own pace while parents and carers enjoy the community atmosphere.

What facilities are on site?

We have a compost toilet at the Orchard. Handwashing facilities and drinking water are also available.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes please – booking helps us plan for numbers, materials, and safety. Sometimes we can accommodate drop-ins, but we can’t guarantee space.

What should I bring/wear?

Clothes suitable for the outdoors (we run sessions in most weathers!). Waterproofs/warm layers depending on the season. Sturdy shoes or boots. A water bottle and any snacks you might need.

Is it family friendly?

Yes – children are very welcome at our sessions. Please note children remain the responsibility of their parent/carer throughout.

What about weather?

We run in most weathers! If there’s extreme weather (very high winds, storms, or ice), we may cancel for safety. We’ll update ticket holders by email and Eventbrite as soon as possible.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the Orchard, however during organised events we ask they stay at home due to some of our audeince being nervous around dogs . Please clean up after them if you visit at other times. Assistant dogs are welcome at sessions.

Do you provide refreshments?

Sometimes light refreshments are included (check event details). You’re very welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.

How do I find out about future events?
