Free panel discussion event with Sir Mike Penning, Conservative MP for Hemel Hempstead.
About this event
Join us on Earth Day 2021 for a panel discussion with Sir Mike Penning MP for Hemel Hempstead, local councillor William Wyatt-Lowe and an expert panel of guest speakers to discuss how we can create, manage and preserve woodlands for all.
Over the last year, we have discovered how important nature and woodlands are for our mental health and general wellbeing.
Woodlands are more than just trees. They provide a whole ecosystem. We're pleased to be joined by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust who will explore how we can address the climate and nature emergencies together.
Our panel discussion will then focus on the social, environmental and economic benefits of ensuring woodlands are considered in our urban and rural environments. This event will focus on Hemel Hempstead, but our speakers bring their expertise from across the UK. From their experiences, we'll learn about what individuals, organisations and our elected representatives can do at every level.
We'll close with a talk from former broadcaster, and local Hemel Hempstead resident, Dennis Furnell on the value of trees and the importance of preserving woodland.
This event is open to all but places are limited, so sign up today!
