Event Information
About this event
******FREE EVENT****** For adults 18 +
Thrive Nature and Ecclesall Woods are collaborating to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week 2021. Jen, a Certified Shinrin Yoku Practitioner will teach you practices to help you relax, tune in to your senses, balance your immune system, improve sleep, concentration and memory. The session involves a brief introduction, a slow, silent walk through the woods, and a variety of short practices that you can replicate on your own later. Research shows that the benefits of a 2 hour session of Shinrin Yoku/Forest Bathing (no swimming involved!) last for up to a month.
Reap the therapeutic benefits that Nature offers, restore balance and emerge from what has been for many a stressful and strange year. No experience needed and the only requirements are that you can walk on uneven ground, and can dress warmly in layers/waterproofs as the pace of walking is deliberately slow.
The event is free but to comply with Covid restricitions spaces are limited to 5 so please register and select the required number of tickets. Many thanks. Although the event is only open to adults, you will learn practices that can be taught to children and adolescents.
Regular forest bathing introduction sessions will be taking place throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn.
