Woodwork Basics: Shelf Brackets
Wed, March 29, 2017, 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM BST
This 5-week course aims to teach you some basic joinery skills in the making of a pair of American Oak wall-shelf brackets for you eventually customize with your choice of shelf material.
As well as tuition during the making of the project, advice on how to fix these to your walls at home will also be given.
N.B Blackhorse Workshop can supply a cut-to size piece of timber for the shelf component, but please note, this is NOT included in the basic course cost (allowing for those who wish to source their own material).
About Woodwork Basics: This workshop is one of our series for complete beginners. Each course introduces a different set of carpentry skills and an explanation of simple joinery and furniture-making techniques. They aim to get you comfortable with using a range of basic hand tools and techniques so you can get started in the workshop. Once you’ve completed these basics, you can move onto our follow up advanced series which takes these skills into the construction of more comprehensive furniture projects.
This course will be led by Toby Poolman, our resident wood technician. Toby originally trained as a furniture designer/maker, and has since worked as furniture maker, timber-framed building craftsman and college lecturer.
Please note that refunds and/or changes to ticket date are available up to 7 days before course start date.
