Event description

Description

Woodwork skills: storage crate project

Using traditional techniques, design and build your own handled storage crate.

You'll be introduced to a range of tools which we will use to accurately cut and shape wood. Turning it into a useful and personalised, stylish utility storage crate.

This practical course focuses on developing new skills and utilising traditional techniques to show what can be achieved with patience and a little inspiration.

Sessions are delivered in a friendly and relaxed style and suitable for absolute beginners. Delivered by people with a passion for woodcraft and a 'make do and mend' approach.

This course is free to attend however there will be a small charge for materials.

What is the Recovery College?

DISCOVER: Recovery College is led by South West Yorkshire Partnership Trust and supported by Kirklees Council. We work in partnership with volunteers and other supporting organisations to develop and run a range of workshops and courses which promote well-being and good mental health.

We focus on education, building people’s skills and knowledge and should not be seen as therapy or a clinical intervention.

Our sessions have been designed and are run by people with personal experience of maintaining their own emotional wellbeing and professionals that work with them.
