Welcome to Woolfords Surrey Green Home!

Throughout Surrey on 17 & 18 May 2014, inspirational eco home owners are opening their doors to members of the public, to show how they have made their homes cheaper to heat and more comfortable to live in.
This is a fantastic, free opportunity to see energy saving technologies in action and to ask the homeowners those burning questions! What is it like to live in a house with solar panels? How expensive is solid wall insulation? How much money are you really saving?
Plus every visitor who visits a Surrey Green Home can enter a prize draw to win a free Green Deal Assessment worth £100* (*Terms and conditions apply. Limited availability)
The Green Deal helps you make energy-saving improvements to your home and find the best way to pay for them.
Mr & Mrs Moxon will be opening their home to visitors on 17 May to show you what they have done to make their home a super-energy efficient property.
Mr & Mrs Moxon have ensured their 5 year old, purpose built one storey bungalow is energy efficient by installing many energy saving measures.
Property features:
Heating provided by ground source heat pump linked to underfloor heating and operated on an offpeak tariff, and a woodstove. The Mechanical Heat Recovery and Ventilation system spreads heat around the house and keeps the air fresh.
House built for high thermal mass, with thick walls, fully filled with insulation, highly insulated roof and SW facing windows for solar gain.
Sunpipes for natural lighting; lots of LEDs.
Solar thermal panels for hot water.
Instant water heater in cloakroom
Rainwater harvesting for garden use
Use of sustainable materials like clay plaster.

You will be sent the event location with your e-ticket and on completion of your booking registration.
IMPORTANT: Please bring identification with you that matches your booking details. This is for security reasons and allows us to run this event. Your passes will be invalid on the day without identification.

Homeowners are opening their houses to assist other homeowners learn about renewable technology and making their own homes more energy efficient. They are volunteers and are giving up their time to host this event. By entering their property you do so at your own risk and, although every measure will be taken to minimise risk, they cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to your person, personal belongs or those who attend with you, nor as a result of offering advice to visitors on what to do in their own homes. The homeowner can cancel the tour at any time and is well within their right to ask visitors to leave at any time and they must oblige.
