What: Wordpress Intermediate course

When: January 17th, 24th, 31st & February 7th, 14th, 21st // from 06:30 pm - 09:30 pm

This is an intermediate course to help you work directly on your website and integrate some upper skilled features and launch a Pro looking website.

During this course you will be directly working on your own product, so you should have a domain already purchased and a basic framework of your future website built. The course is limited to only three participants, in order to receive enough one-on-one mentoring by the WordPress expert.

You will be working on how to build some more complex features, customizing themes and plugins/

Event thought this is an extension of WordPress users, but you will learn tricks expanding beyond just using WordPress tool to build your website. Tricks with a short code or other services you can integrate will be presented as well.


AFTER THE COURSE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Evaluate and check the compatibility of different plug ins
  • Install and maintain professional plug ins
  • Handle all the professional features of WordPress
  • Customize WordPress themes and see how can you build your own
  • Have a professional looking website

SESSION OVERVIEW

Session 1
In the first session we will quickly go through basics of WordPress, a recap on refreshing your WordPress knowledge.

Session 2
Second session we already get down to business. You will receive guidance of installing the right theme directly to your domain. By this time, you’ll need to have ready a mock-up of your site and an approximate idea of how it will look like.

Session 3
Going deeper in it. During this session you’ll conclude the preparation of the content of your site (Images, texts, videos, etc.). Additional you will also touch base with UX and UI of your website and receive guidance on how to acquire valuable feedback.

Session 4
First stage of fine tuning is here - plug ins. You will be evaluating and testing with various plug ins to make sure they fit your website and they are all able to function without interference.

Session 5
Last two sessions are devoted to fine-tinning. You will be implementing the changes you acquired from the feedback, working more on seamless flow of your website and installing advanced plug ins to make it truly professional looking. In this session you will be able to customize using CSS and PHP coding, by the help of the mentor.

Session 6
During last session you will continue fine tuning from session 5 and implementing final touch to your website to make it ready to launch!

INSTRUCTOR: MAURICIO DISILVESTRO
Mauricio Disilvestro is a freelance web developer with 7 years of experience building WordPress sites for small companies, agencies and online entrepreneurs. When he started learning web development, he decided to focus his efforts on WordPress for its large flexibility, documentation and solutions available. Passionate of coaching and teaching, he loves to assist his clients and students in the process of developing their space on the web.
