About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours
  • Ages 18+

Ever held back from speaking up in a meeting? Struggled to find the right words in an interview? Or felt unsure about how to navigate a difficult conversation at work?

You’re not alone - and that’s exactly why we created this session.

Communicating confidently at work isn’t always easy, especially when you’re early in your career, starting something new, or still finding your voice in professional spaces.

This session is part of Work in Progress, our empowering series of workshops and events for women aged 18 - 35, designed to help you feel more confident and capable in your working life.

In times like this, we bring in the pros…

We’re sooo excited to be joined by Cara Nolan, Associate Director at Curve Theatre. Cara holds an MA in Directing from RADA and regularly works with performers and creatives to build confidence, presence and communication skills.

She’s bringing those same techniques to you - tailored to real-life working situations like interviews, presentations, and those tricky conversations that make your palms sweat.

What to expect:

  • Techniques used by performers to manage nerves and speak with confidence
  • Practical exercises you can apply to work and everyday life
  • A supportive, down-to-earth space where we learn together

Feeling peckish?

As this session is straight after work, you’ll be welcomed with a light meal (jacket potatoes with your choice of toppings) before we begin. You’ll have time to eat, settle in and meet the Women Who Can team.

Is it really free?

Yes! Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, this event is completely free for women aged 18 - 35 living in Leicester/Leicestershire.

P.S. This is just the beginning…
