It's a series of empowering experiences designed to help women aged 18–35 in Leicester/Leicestershire explore, shape and grow their working lives - on their own terms.

Do I need to be looking for a job to attend?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! Work in Progress is for any woman who wants to feel more confident, capable and supported in her working life.
You might be building a business, climbing the career ladder, planning a switch, or still exploring your options - you’re welcome here.

Question 3

Is this only for women who are early in their career?

Accepted Answer

Nope. We know that career journeys aren’t linear. This series is for women at all different stages - whether you’re just starting out, bouncing back, or levelling up.

Question 4

Do I have to come to every event?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! You can attend just one or join us for the full series - whatever works for you.
Each event covers a different theme and is designed to stand alone, so you’ll always leave with something valuable.

What kind of topics will you cover?

Some of the events we’ve got coming up include: vision boarding your ideal working life, confidence and communication coaching, styling for interviews and hybrid working, how to network, & support for self-employed women and side hustlers.

Every event is practical, creative and confidence-boosting.

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yep! Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, all Work in Progress events are completely free to attend for women aged 18-35 based in Leicester/Leicestershire.
We want to make sure every woman has access to this kind of support-no matter her background or current situation.

I’ve never been to a Women Who Can event before - can I still come?

100%! Whether this is your first time or your tenth, you’ll be made to feel welcome. Come as you are - we’re all works in progress.

Question 8

Do I need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

Nope! We’ve got you covered. From painting supplies to your canvas and apron, everything you need will be ready and waiting. Just bring yourself, your creativity, and good vibes!

Question 9

Can I attend alone?

Accepted Answer

Of course! Many women come solo, and this is the perfect chance to meet new people in a friendly, supportive space. We’ll have a designated person on hand to introduce you to others and help you feel at ease. You’ll leave with new connections, great memories, and maybe even a masterpiece!

What if I can’t make it?

Accepted Answer

Life happens - we get it! Just let us know as soon as you can so we can offer your spot to someone else. Spaces are limited, and we want as many women as possible to enjoy this special experience.
