Work in the woods! Low Cross Wood, Dulwich
Event Information
About this event
This winter we will be working in the southern end of Low Cross Wood on behalf of The Dulwich Estate clearing out cherry laurel and holly. Both can be invasive of woodland, crowding out shrub species like hazel, and any herb species that might be present.
Come along and help! You don't need any experience, just wear stuff you don't mind getting dirty, sensible footwear (like not your going out shoes) and bring yourself and your lunch and drinks.
I'll bring all the tools and gloves, and some drinks in case you run out or forget yours.
Numbers will be limited to 10, we'll be following COVID guidelines - you will be outside, which is always best, and we'll keep a distance from each other, and keep a record of people attending, so if anybody does later test positive we can contact trace everybody.
Full LWT COVID advise is here:
Please do not attend if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been asked to isolate by the NHS Test and Trace.
If you do have Covid-19 symptoms or need to isolate and get tested, please inform me should you test positive after recently attending a volunteer session. I will then inform other attendees and advise/take the necessary safety precautions.
We will maintain distance during tasks and refreshment breaks as much as possible, unless the specific task at hand requires closer contact, in which case, the use of masks is advised, but is ultimately at individual's discretion
Oh, and there's no toilets.
Meet point is here: https://goo.gl/maps/i4CHs3xLmGfcdcXR7 More detail: Walk up Great Brownings from College Road, where the road forks, take the right hand one, and walk down to the end of the road (it's a dead end) till you see the black LWT van.....
