Description

Learn how to streamline your work day, boost your productivity and retain a razor-sharp focus on what matters.

Do you feel overwhelmed by your workload? Do deadlines keep you awake at night? Do you find it difficult to cope with the constant stream of push notifications in your pocket? You might think the answer is to work longer hours and put extra effort in, but learning how to work smarter instead of harder will help you achieve much more.

Run by award-winning Guardian journalist and former Google content editor Lauren Razavi, this intimate masterclass will share useful insights and outline effective strategies to help you get your work done faster, maximise your productivity and achieve greater success in your career.

During this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to free yourself from the stress of an overflowing inbox, develop habits that minimise distractions, and prioritise what matters to you most – both personally and professionally.

This masterclass will help you to:

  • Harness research-supported strategies to become more productive and effective with your time and skills

  • Assess the scope of tasks you’re faced with and your ability to deliver on them without hesitation

  • Reject time-wasting distractions and manage unrealistic expectations with confidence and a smile

  • Reduce the stress associated with having a never-ending stream of emails and social media notifications

  • Recognise and overcome barriers to successful time management and work planning

  • Keep a level head and a sense of perspective in order to manage panic and prevent crises

  • Identify opportunities to assist you in striving towards your personal and professional goals, including development of the ability to delegate effectively

About the tutor

This three-hour workshop is led by award-winning freelance journalist Lauren Razavi, who writes for titles such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Atlantic, Harper’s Bazaar and Wired. She has also delivered workshops about freelance journalism and brand storytelling at the University of Cambridge and as part of Guardian Masterclasses.

Lauren’s success as a feature writer and foreign reporter led her to visit 30 countries before she’d graduated from university, and fund a master’s degree in creative writing entirely through freelance journalism. She was then headhunted to work in Google’s content strategy department, before returning to Norwich to start her own company in 2016. Her clients today include Emirates, NatWest, Royal Bank of Canada and HP.
