About this event
Join us for an interactive conference to hear and learn from your peers and industry experts about the fully funded professional support on offer for your workforce planning, training and recruitment needs.
The West of England Combined Authority has brought its partners together so that small and medium sized businesses like yours can openly discuss the challenges around workforce planning, training, and recruitment, and learn about the collaborative solutions we offer.
Join us on Tuesday 12 July to hear about the Combined Authority's Workforce for the Future programme. The programme offers bespoke workforce planning so you can upskill your employees and hire staff more effectively. We have already supported hundreds of SMEs and are excited to share personal insights from an excellent set of speakers who have benefitted from the programme.
Event timings
9:30am: Arrival and refreshments
10:00 – 10:15am: Welcome and introductions from the West of England Combined Authority
10:15 – 10:45am: Insight from business leaders on their personal experiences of support received through Workforce for the Future
10:45 – 11:45am: Break-out table discussions on the challenges you are facing. This includes:
- building your talent pipeline
- retaining staff
- workforce development
- sustainability in business, and
- sector-specific challenges.
11:45am – 12:45pm: Lunch and networking opportunities with your peers and our partners to learn more about the free support on offer
12:45pm: Event close
Speakers
- Federico Uliana, Director at Pasta Uliana restaurant. Federico is using Workforce for the Future to engage with college students to build his talent pipeline.
- Duncan Fraser, Head of Production and Hannah Murdoch, Welfare & HR Manager at A Productions. Hear about their workforce development planning support from Business West and learning about school engagement via West of England Careers Hub, who have enabled them to build a purposeful relationship with a local school.
- Verity Langham, Disability Champion at Agency UK. Verity has received disability inclusivity training from one of our key partners.
- Simon Green, BS3 Development Café Manager, BS3 Community Centre. Hear how Simon has been supported to connect with schools and collaborate with other businesses.
- Seb Keightley, Training, Development and Digital Coordinator at The Green Register. Seb is taking advantage of the digital skills support offered through Workforce for the Future.
- Martyn Sloman, Director at Gold Dust Training. Martyn will share his experiences on engaging with student work experience and placements.
Event details
Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day. When you register to attend, there will be an option to share any dietary requirements you would like us to be aware of, as well as any accessibility needs and which themes you are particularly interested in.
