What does a carer mean?

A carer or also known as an unpaid carer is someone who cares, for a
friend or family member who due to illness,
disability, a mental health problem or an
addiction cannot cope without their support. Caring for someone can take up a few hours
each week, or 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.

Question 2

I don't work with carers directly, can I still attend?

Accepted Answer

Even if you are not the carer's primary support, you might have the opportunity to come across hidden carers you can help identify in your role. We will explore strategies to help you recognise and support carers to be able to make a difference in their lives.

Question 3

Will there be networking opportunities?

Accepted Answer

Yes! This event is a great chance to meet individuals and teams from health, voluntary services, local authorities and community support who you can connect and collaborate with on the day.

Question 4

Can I bring a colleague or a carer with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we encourage you to bring your team members to learn together and also any carers who would like to share their experiences with us!

I would like to have a stall at the conference, who can I contact?

Accepted Answer

If you would like to hold a free stall at our conference, please contact Rizma.Riyajuddin@leics.gov.uk . There are only 20 stalls available on the day - book your place early!

Question 6

I can't attend the whole day, can I still get involved?

Accepted Answer

Yes! If you are unable to join us for the full day, you are  still most welcome to come and participate in the morning or afternoon as you will have the opportunity to choose which workshop is most relevant to your role.
