Event description

Description

A training course led by creative practitioner and dance therapist Andrea Haley, using storytelling and the TimeSlips method.

Nottingham’s Imagine - arts and older people programme is offering an exciting training session for artists and staff working in the care sector. As part of the Imagine programme we have been exploring the use of storytelling using the TimeSlips framework. This method has proved to be particularly effective with older people living with dementia. This training is being facilitated by Andrea Haley who has years of expertise in working with marginalised participants and within hospital environments. The training has been developed in response to work taking place on the programme. It will cover:

  • use of storytelling to encourage engagement
  • practical ways you can introduce these techniques to run workshops with older people and people living with dementia
  • using the TimeSlips method to deliver creative workshops
  • tailoring these techniques to the individual needs and skills of participants
  • gaining an understanding of older people living with dementia

This training day, which would normally cost £90, is subsidised by the Imagine - arts and older people programme and costs ONLY £20. The day includes lunch.
