About this event
- 7 days 7 hours
Let's be honest, whilst it's incredibly important, theory can be a bit dry at times! This usually results in terms or understanding slipping our minds (more often when we most need it!)
I am a qualified Person-Centred counsellor with training in Creative Counselling, and creativity has been my savour when remembering the ins and outs of everything from the seven stages to conditions of worth.
Through this interactive workshop, I will use visualisation, analogy, imagery and, you guessed it... Creativity(!) as tools invite you to find new ways of remembering theory.
My hope with this workshop is two-fold...
Firstly, I want to introduce new ways for you to identify, with ease, when clients are linking to theory in the counselling room.
Secondly, I want to help you to find creative ways to work with these clients when you know what parts of theory they are linking to.
This is a CPCAB endorsed two day workshop, running from 10am to 5pm on the 10th and 17th August 2024. Certificates for 12 hours of CPD will be provided for those who attend both days.
Workshop feedback:
"I really enjoyed the workshop and I felt I could implement this into my own counselling practice. It was very well put together and I love how the creative ideas were used to explain theory. I would love to attend another workshop! Amazing experience!"
"It was great, I felt well received and challenged. I deeply appreciated the way the workshop was conducted in terms of type of tasks, breaks, meditation exercise. It resonated with me all the analogies and metaphors - definitely I'll allow myself more often to brainstorm in this way."
"Overall I found the workshop really inspiring. It was helpful to have a refresher in the person centerd approach and in such a creative way. As someone who can struggle to remember and absorb all the information from books or talks, this creative way of remembering the PCA was really enlightening. I also loved learning about how to impliment this with clients through creative interventions. The workshop was very interactive which was great and it was lovely to hear from all the other counsellors from around the world. At first I was a bit unsure of having two days on zoom, however it didn't feel like we were on zoom, it felt like we were all together. It was so good to get those creative inspirations flowing - so thank you again Leigh!"
