Event description
Working Creatively with Timelines from a Psychodynamic Perspective workshop with Kate Williams

About this event

Timelines are often forgotten therapeutic tools. This two hour workshop aims to refresh this tool and blend creativity with theory. This trauma-informed workshop weaves in psychodynamic theory from Freud to object relationships to help you to work with timelines and further understand your client's process.

Timelines are a fantastic way of drawing out themes and identifying key moment when a clients life changed and their sense of self shifted. They can help us to understand our clients more deeply and in doing so provide a powerful visual for clients. You'll learn how to safely work with timelines.

You'll be invited to create your own timeline so have colours and paper to hand and there will some time during the workshop to explore these ideas with your peers.

This 2-hour workshop will be recorded and you can use the ticket function to pre-purchase the recording before the event. This will be useful for colleagues who are not able to attend the event live and also for those who attend the event live and want to watch again.

This workshop will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform where we will use our camera and microphones to interact with each other as a group.

To support practitioners in this time of extraordinary circumstances we are offering access to this group for a self-select fee.

The self-select fee is a radical inclusion policy to open learning for all colleagues. The guide price for this event is £20.00, however, we appreciate that income varies greatly in different locations and circumstances. Please contribute what you can to help us maintain inclusive professional training.

Kate Williams

She currently work within the NHS IAPT programme as well as running a busy private practice and enjoys teaching yoga and breathwork in groups and 1-2-1.

She has a keen interest in the impact trauma can have on the nervous system, mind and body and have undergone extensive training in trauma. With this in mind, and her training as a breathwork coach, she has developed a more trauma-informed & embodied way of working to support others to better inhabit their bodies, self soothe and regulate their feelings and in doing so feel more grounded and connected.

Kate runs online workshops including the Psychodynamic 3 month bridging course.
