**THIS COURSE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO INDIVIDUALS LIVING/WORKING IN WALES, UK***

This course highlights the importance of identifying and engaging with those that cause harm. The course aims to increase the confidence of practitioners to work directly with perpetrators or alongside other practitioners engaging with perpetrators to reduce the risk of harm and increase the safety of family members. The learning model aims to aid the systems and professionals that surround the family to facilitate the opportunity for appropriate intervention and meaningful behavioural change for the one using abusive behaviours,

Learning outcomes will provide learners with the ability to:

    • identify the primary perpetrator by recognising complex dynamics and understanding the function of perpetrator behaviours.
    • understand perpetrator typologies and identify differences in clients’ behaviours to both assess risks and to support with targeted intervention.
    • adopt a response to engage perpetrators to take accountability and address their behaviours or take positive action.
    • facilitate a multi-agency trauma informed approach to ensure on-going support and risk management for victims (adult/children).
    • have a knowledge of statutory guidance to effectively respond to the behaviour of the perpetrator.
