I will present a model of working short term, which explores and combines different ways to work in depth with our clients.
We will look at the influence of David Malan, Jennifer Elton-Wilson and Gertrude Mander among others. I will present their different approaches, and we will also work experientially, using some of their ideas and techniques.
Event Learning Outcomes:
As we find so much of our work is short term, be that with an agency, as an EAP counsellor, in schools and colleges, it is important to find a way of working relationally, psychodynamically and in depth within the constraints of a limited number of sessions. By the end of the workshop, I hope participants will feel more confident and inspired to work in this way.
Facilitator:
Katina Noble is a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor who trained at BCPC. She co-ran the Student Counselling Service at Weston College for 21 years, where the majority of the work was short term. She is also an EAP Counsellor and has a private practice in Bristol.
