About this event

Health • Personal health

People who specialise in beauty may work in salons, department stores, spas, leisure clubs, hotels, in clients' homes and even on cruise ships. While formal qualifications are not essential to train for beauty work, college courses may require GCSEs at particular grades for entry.

Those who work in the beauty industry want to improve people's physical appearance and wellbeing. Beauty therapists (sometimes known as beauticians) - when fully trained - can carry out a range of treatments on the face and body including facial and skincare treatments, eyebrow/eyelash tinting, manicures and pedicures. Beauty therapists can also train to give body massages, remove unwanted hair, provide tanning, give various skin therapies, and perform other treatments using electrical equipment. Other types of work connected to the beauty industry include:

• make-up artists

• complementary therapists

• beauty consultants

• sales representatives that sell beauty products

Come to our webinar to explore the full range of careers in the beauty industry, entry routes including apprenticeships and college courses, and where people in this industry work.
