Have a better understanding of how health commissioning and participation works nationally and locally.
Have gained knowledge as how to find and engage key health contacts.
Understand levers for change to enable the Forum to get its voice heard.
Develop an outline action plan for future activity.
Section 1 National
Information and overview of health structures and commissioning nationally
Outlining national levers for change within the NHS in addition to the SEND Reforms
Section 2 Local
Looking at local systems, structures and key roles- what do you need to know, who do you need to try and make relationships with to improve engagement with local health partners (this includes an introduction to the CaF Health Toolkit for Parent Carer Forums and how to use it)
Local strategies and levers- where to find these, how to draw out the information you might need, and how to align it with your own priorities
Section 3 Action Planning
Key local issues – facilitated discussion around who or what will the Forum target and how will the Forum do this.
Please note that this session is not to deal with individual cases but to improve services delivered in Portsmouth.
The workshop will be delivered by Anna Gill from Contact A Family.
