About this event
Broxbourne Council is committed to helping deliver mental health training to the heart of its business community. The Council is delighted to be partnering with Calmer, an award-winning training organisation, to deliver this much needed initiative.
The aim is to address common challenges entrepreneurs, senior leaders, managers and face with managing mental wellbeing at work, and provide practical strategies and resources to improve their personal wellbeing, support others, and build a resilient workforce.
A 2024 survey conducted by Broxbourne Enterprise Centres revealed that 87.7% of entrepreneurs struggle with at least one mental health issue. Among these, 34.4% experience burnout, and 50.2% suffer from anxiety. Add to that further evidence from the Society of Human Resource Management found that organisations with comprehensive wellbeing programmes reported a 25% reduction in healthcare costs over five years – leading to the decision to make mental health support and training in the Broxbourne area a top priority for the Borough’s business eco system.
During this in person event, you will:
- Explore an overview of what good and poor mental health looks like, including the most common mental health conditions
- Understand the link between stress, anxiety and burnout, and best practices for burnout prevention
- Learn key steps for how best to support staff experiencing mental health issues
- Identify how to role-model healthy habits and encourage good mental health, in team and 1-1 settings
- Discover how to nurture a culture of wellness at work
Calmer’s course content blends theory with practical exercises, interactive discussion and time for reflection.
This session is open to solopreneurs, entrepreneurs, senior leaders and managers within the Broxbourne.
