Regional Community Brain Injury Conference - 7th March 2018, Seagoe Hotel, Portadown
SHSCT is very pleased to be hosting the first annual regional community brain injury conference. The theme of our conference will be ‘Working with Acquired Brain Injury in the Community’. Our keynote speaker will be Dr Giles Yeates, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr Giles Yeates is a clinical neuropsychologist with a clinical and research focus on emotions and relationships following acquired brain injury (ABI), together with the innovation of psychological therapies for survivors. His core therapy trainings include Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy (basic training) and Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy. He is an internationally-invited and keynote speaker on couples, families and psychotherapies following ABI, and a past International Neuropsychoanalysis Fellow. Dr Yeates has written several articles and book chapters, is a co-author of A Relational Approach to Rehabilitation: Thinking about Relationships after Brain Injury, and editor of both the Karnac Books Brain Injury and Neuro-Disability & Psychotherapy series.
